Welcome to the website of the boys and girls clubs of Rutherford County. We are having so much fun and doing so many different things in the school year program!
On Friday June 10, a U.S. Navy Parachute Team, The Leap Frogs, treated the Boys and Girls Club in Murfreesboro to a show as several of the members parachuted onto the baseball field.
Team Fit Runs in 2nd Annual Miles of Smiles
On Friday May 26, 2006 33 children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rutherford County ran in their 2nd Annual Miles of Smiles marathon and raised $500.00 for Special Kids.
Miles of Smiles is a month-long fundraiser benefiting Special Kids. The children that participate raise money from family, friends and neighbors. The children ran each afternoon as a group for the four weeks of the program.
Friday, May 26 was the final day of the program and a huge celebration was held at the Boys and Girls Club of Murfreesboro where there were lots of games, healthy snacks and inflatables’. Participants completed the final leg of the run by running from the fire station near Mitchell Nelson and finishing at the Boys and Girls Club where they were cheered across the finish line by friends and family.
A new pair of running shoes was awarded to Dallas Brown for running 43 miles and Daniel Ladd for running 41 miles and Reagan Dempsey for raising $100.00.
